Mustang 1969-1970 Side Tension Cables, Pair
This is a pair of Side Tension (hold-down) Cables for 1964 1/4-1965 Ford Mustang convertible tops. This is the early type with threaded end with nuts and no spring. These cables create tension between the soft top and the top frame, effectively reducing wind noise and weather penetration.
Old stretched, rusted or broken cables should be replaced. Also, replacing them at the same time as you replace your convertible top saves labor time on the installation. It's a good idea to buy new cables to be sure your new Top goes on correctly.
- Durable Steel ends
- Heavy gauge, coated cable for long service life
- Fits all 1964 1/2-1965 Mustang convertible tops
- Threaded end with nuts (no spring)
Robbins all steel, heavier gauge Side Tension Cables are an upgrade from factory original. Because OEM tension cables have plastic ends, they often don't survive drilling the rivets out when replacing the top. Also, because OEM cables are thinner, they may not provide as long a service life.
